Welcome Letter

Summer 2009

Dear PBS Families,

Welcome to a new year at Pace Brantley School. I’m Pam Fine the President The PACEMAKERS Association of our beloved Pace Brantley School.

The Pacemakers is the Parent Association of PBS. All families are considered active participants of this Organization and its programs. Our purpose is to provide support for programs and activities that enhance the campus facilities through fund raising and volunteer work. Our mission is to enrich the educational, emotional and social needs of our school community. Our families and faculty are the heart of PBS.

Your participation is critical and absolutely necessary for to the quality and quantity of your child’s educational experience and the growth of Pace Brantley School. Your volunteer time is greatly appreciated. Many of our opportunities can be done from home  and  by supporting our fund raisers. PBS tuition pays for the salaries and facilities of the school. Additional programs provided to your child are solely dependent upon our PACEMAKERS-parent/community support. The PACEMAKERS purchase school equipment to enhance the  campus, supplement the Art, P.E. and Library Departments programs and funds  the Family Picnic, Fall Festival and  Holiday Parties. The PACEMAKERS  Association  also helps defray the cost of field trips. Teachers are also greatly appreciated through the PACEMAKERS Association.

Volunteers are the heart of the PACEMAKERS! Volunteer positions are listed on the PACEMAKERS of PBS VOLUNTEER FORM.

The Pacemaker Association meets the third Wednesday of every month in the Resource Building at 8:30 am. We will schedule some evening meetings to accommodate working families. Please check your school calendar for dates. All parents are encouraged to attend. We will send meeting minutes through e-mail and post them in the school website under PACEMAKERS section.

Our PBS Directory will come out this year via email and contains critical information about the school and The Pacemakers Association. Communication is Key! In order to keep you informed of PBS and Pacemakers news and events, please look for information in the following sources:

www.mypbhs.org (School News, Important Events and in the PACEMAKERS Section)

E-mail News for events reminders

Fliers/Newsletters (available through website and hard copy too)

If you have any questions about the Association, please feel free to contact us through Pacemakers@mypbhs.org or contact officers directly. We hope you and your child have a great year. We thank you in advance for your active support.

Sincerely,

Pam Fine President of the PACEMAKERS Association of PBS 2009-2010
