Teaching methods at Pace combine the four different learning approaches (auditory, visual, tactile, and whole body) incorporating all five senses. As each sense is visited, learning takes place on several levels.
Accreditation
Pace Brantley School is fully accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools. It is also a member of the Florida Association of Independent Special Educational Facilities. Academic excellence is a hallmark of Pace Brantley School and each year a number of students have been inducted into the National Honor Society.
Curricula
The school has modern Audio/Visual teaching aids, and a recently-upgraded Computer Lab. The staff and faculty have the unique credentials and abilities to insure the success of our students.
Because of the nature of the school, the curricular programs are as diverse as the student population. Because each student is addressed individually, the curriculum is taught in such a way as to meet their individual needs. It is necessary, however, to cover standardized material, and the Stanford Achievement Test, PSAT, SAT, PLAN, and ACT testing programs are used at Pace to evaluate the progress of students. Individual evaluation is preferred as a true measure of a student's progress at Pace.
At the lower levels, curricular programs includes the Orton Gillingham Reading Method, Wilson Reading Program and a variety of math programs. Science, Social Studies, Physical Fitness, Computer and Art are incorporated into the students schedule. The program is highly structured and appropriately challenging, while meeting the students unique needs. The Sunshine State Standards are used as a guide.
High School curricular programs are in keeping with state and general academic standards, using a variety of texts from Prentice-Hall, Addison Wesley, and Macmillan, augmented by individualized instruction. Since many of our graduates go to college, Pace offers the standard courses mandated by colleges and universities to meets the guidelines set forth by the State of Florida for admission to state universities. The curricula includes American Government, World History, Geography, Physics, English (Literature and Composition), Chemistry, Advanced Mathematics, Speech, Economics, and Foreign Languages.
