Fast ForWord

Fast ForWord, developed by the Scientific Learning Corporation, is a computerized reading and language program that supplements and reinforces the concepts presented in the Orton Gillingham program. The program addresses the cognitive skills of memory, processing, sequencing and attention. In an animated program of five to seven exercises per session, students begin with activities to develop phonemic awareness, listening accuracy, following directions and language structures and can progress to products that improve the skills of vocabulary, spelling and comprehension. Students generally participated in the program for forty days, or longer as individual needs determine. Fast ForWord is computerized and the exercises are individualized for each student. Extensive performance results are available online on a daily basis.
