Field trips provide multi-sensory educational opportunities for learning disabled students and expand, reinforce and compliment the curriculum at PACE-Brantley Hall School.  Students experience a wide variety of activities both on and off campus due to the numerous opportunities afforded within the Central Florida region.  Field trips provide academic experiences, as well as the opportunity to enhance self-esteem and team spirit, improve social skills and teamwork, develop life skills and career interests, promote an appreciation of the arts, nature, recreational activities, sports, hobbies, the fine arts, performing arts, science, technology, regional history and business.

Field trips may be organized by either an individual teacher or by the lower school or high school teams, with a specific objective for the activity that is pertinent to the curriculum.  For instance, a recent field trip to the Leadership Conference included lower school and high school students, totaling approximate four teachers and twenty students.  Students listened to inspirational speakers presenting information on valuing oneself, avoiding mental junk food and the realization that one's life is a direct reflection of one's choice in life.  Previous field trips have been to colleges such as Beacon College and ITT Technical School.  These field trips gave students the opportunity to experience and observe college life.  This afforded an outstanding prospect for students to contemplate college as a future possibility for them.

During any field trip many other skills are learned and expanded upon such as:  peer relationships, safety, good manners, self-control, adapting to change and new environments.  Other curriculum-based field trips have included visits to local theatrical productions, art museums, the Kennedy Space Center, Sea World, Island of Adventure and WonderWorks.  Some field trips are as close as the Anthony House to deliver donated goods or to the Florida Keys, Mexico, New York City and Washington D.C..
